How to Change Your Email Password in Webmail

To maintain the security of your organization, we recommend updating your email password regularly. You can do this directly through the Webmail interface without needing to contact support.

Important: Changing your password in Webmail changes it for all devices. You will need to immediately update the password on your phone, Outlook, and any other devices connected to this email account, or they may be blocked for multiple failed login attempts.

Step 1: Log in to Webmail

Visit the webmail login portal and log in with your current email address and password

Step 2: Navigate to Settings

Once logged in, look for the Settings menu.

  • Desktop: Click the Settings button (gear icon) located in the main menu on the far left of the screen.

  • Mobile: Tap the menu button in the top corner to reveal the settings option.

Step 3: Select the Password Tab

In the Settings menu, look at the list of options on the left-hand side.

  • Locate and click on Account.

  • Locate and click on Change password.
  • This will open the password change form in the main window.

Step 4: Update Your Credentials

Enter your credential details carefully:

  • Current Password: Enter the password you used to log in today.

  • New Password: Enter your new, secure password.

  • Confirm New Password: Type the new password again to ensure there are no typos.

Requirement: For security, your new password must be at least 8 characters long and contain a mix of letters and numbers.

Step 5: Save and Update Devices

Click the Save button.

  • If successful, you will see a confirmation message stating “Successfully saved”

  • Action Required: Immediately go to your mobile phone or email client (Outlook/Thunderbird) and update the saved password. If these devices continue trying to connect with the old password, our security firewall may temporarily block your IP address.

Troubleshooting

  • “Error: Password too short”: Please choose a longer password with higher complexity.

  • “Error: Current password incorrect”: You likely typed your old password wrong in the first box. Please try again.

  • Locked Out? If you cannot log in to Webmail to perform this step, please follow our How to Request an Email Password Reset guide.

Pro Tip: Use a passphrase consisting of three random words (e.g., Coffee-Planet-Tiger-24) to create a password that is mathematically strong but easy for you to remember.
